Journeying with the young; Supporting Salesian Missionaries in East Africa

  • Sponsor a street child
    Sponsor a street child

Thousands (if not millions!) children in Kenya live in the slum, in the setting with less thatn 1$ to spend per day. They often end up on the street, which gives them only way of survival. Bosco Boys gives them new opportunity.
This is where you come in. For less than one dollar a day ($30 monthly, $360 annually), you too can support a child in his quest for education. This monthly pledge will help a child go to school, receive necessary medical treatment, and be a part of activities that will give him/her an opportunity to have a future. You will be sent a photo and bio about the child you are sponsoring. As a sponsor you will be able to communicate with the child through our organization. The length of the sponsorship is yearly, but maybe discontinued at the donor's request at any time.

DIDIA

DON BOSCO SHINYANGA - DIDIA

assembly

Missionary Parish and Secondary School.

Don Bosco Didia is an institution of the Catholic Church and we are guided in our work by the spirit and principles of Don Bosco. The Salesians values are always kept foremost in our activities on behalf of our youth especially the poor. Chief among these values are family spirit which reigns through the friendly & brotherly exercise of reason, religion, loving & kindness, and by practicing these virtues making them honest citizens and obedient children of God. The following are the major activities of the Don Bosco Secondary School:

- Senior Secondary School - Form 1 to Form VI
- Boarding for boys run by Salesians of Don Bosco
- Boarding for girls run by Sisters of Notre Dame

The general aims and activities for the Don Bosco Secondary School are:

- Giving secondary school education, especially in the region of Shinyanga, principally for the standard seven leavers from the neighboring 48 primary schools.
- Offer leadership skills to young men and women of Didia and for the 48 surrounding villages through an agriculturally biased secondary education.
- Endow with the central point in a Youth Development Program at Didia
- Providing teaching in line with the habits, customs, traditions and motivation states of local youth.
