Journeying with the young; Supporting Salesian Missionaries in East Africa

  • Sponsor a street child
    Sponsor a street child

Thousands (if not millions!) children in Kenya live in the slum, in the setting with less thatn 1$ to spend per day. They often end up on the street, which gives them only way of survival. Bosco Boys gives them new opportunity.
This is where you come in. For less than one dollar a day ($30 monthly, $360 annually), you too can support a child in his quest for education. This monthly pledge will help a child go to school, receive necessary medical treatment, and be a part of activities that will give him/her an opportunity to have a future. You will be sent a photo and bio about the child you are sponsoring. As a sponsor you will be able to communicate with the child through our organization. The length of the sponsorship is yearly, but maybe discontinued at the donor's request at any time.

They were shooting, almost hit Father David, but protection of Mother Mary nobody was hurt. Thanks be to God! They stole though everything that was of any value, so we are all called to help them in any possible way.

On Easter Monday night robbers attended to hurt Don Bosco Embu. They entered by beating the watchman, they attacked Fathers responsible for the school, robbed what they could and destroyed many facilities. We are searching for financial help in order to improve security system in Don Bosco Embu, particularlyl to build a fence around the compound, so that students will be better protected.

BOSCO BOYS

Street children project

Objective
To empower youth with proper education and see them becoming self-reliant people who are independent citizens and good Christians, capable of making positive contribution and changes in society and reunite them with family.
The overall goal of Bosco Boys Project is to provide a home, basic human needs and spiritual nourishment to needy children who formally lived or are currently living in the streets.

Emphasis is laid on education because it is seen as a necessary tool in equipping street children to become self-reliant. It allows them to become independent citizens capable of making a positive change in society. Apart from education, we also endeavor to meet their basic needs such as food, clothing, shelter and above all a family atmosphere. This we do with the aim of providing an environment conducive to facilitating a positive change of behavior amongst former street children.

CURRENTLY THEY NEED HELP FOR:

  • Financial assistance for the running cost; could be covered by sponsoring a particular child. One child costs us about 3000 ksh per month.
  • Food: BREAD, vegetables, fruit. Any amount is welcome, but per day (for breakfast) they were used to use about 100 loafs.
