Journeying with the young; Supporting Salesian Missionaries in East Africa

  • Sponsor a street child
    Sponsor a street child

Thousands (if not millions!) children in Kenya live in the slum, in the setting with less thatn 1$ to spend per day. They often end up on the street, which gives them only way of survival. Bosco Boys gives them new opportunity.
This is where you come in. For less than one dollar a day ($30 monthly, $360 annually), you too can support a child in his quest for education. This monthly pledge will help a child go to school, receive necessary medical treatment, and be a part of activities that will give him/her an opportunity to have a future. You will be sent a photo and bio about the child you are sponsoring. As a sponsor you will be able to communicate with the child through our organization. The length of the sponsorship is yearly, but maybe discontinued at the donor's request at any time.

They were shooting, almost hit Father David, but protection of Mother Mary nobody was hurt. Thanks be to God! They stole though everything that was of any value, so we are all called to help them in any possible way.

On Easter Monday night robbers attended to hurt Don Bosco Embu. They entered by beating the watchman, they attacked Fathers responsible for the school, robbed what they could and destroyed many facilities. We are searching for financial help in order to improve security system in Don Bosco Embu, particularlyl to build a fence around the compound, so that students will be better protected.

UTUME

SALESIAN THEOLOGICAL COLLEGE

"Don Bosco Missions" in Kenya and in other African countries must be developed and continued. For this, there is need of future missionaries. To prepare them we have UTUME, a Theological Seminary for the Salesians in Africa. This seminary was stated in 1986 with just 2 students. Now there are about 50 students coming from about 12 African countries. Every year about 10 students complete the study of Theology, get ordained as Priests and go to the different Don Bosco Missions in Africa. To support these seminarians we depend very much on friends and benefactors.

Utume

VISION
Don Bosco Utume – Salesian Theological college is a centre of higher learning in preparation for ministerial Priesthood. The institute forms educators and evangelizers in human, intellectual, spiritual and pastoral dimensions to be competent in communication and inculturation of the Gospel message according to the Charism of Don Bosco in concrete situations of the Young People especially in Africa.
MISSION
We promote intellectual study, scientific research and critical evaluation in theological and youth related disciplines in view of ministerial Priesthood in the Catholic Church for the purpose of transforming society according to Gospel values. Following Don Bosco’s educational system, we emphasize a friendly atmosphere, leadership, initiative, creativity, spiritual maturity and active involvement in concrete youth situations, particularly in Africa.
